Pleasanton High School
The 7th grade B-Team played an intersquad scrimmage Thursday night to show case the skills they have learned over these past few weeks. Although they did not have another school to face the scrimmage was a hard fought battle to the end with only one touchdown being made by Ecidro Hernandez of the White team. Next week the Eagles will be traveling to Beeville to put their skills to work. Great Job Eagles!!!!
The 7th grade A team game was good old fashioned Texas shoot out against San Antonio Christian Middle School. The Eagles received the ball first and set the tone for the rest of the game when Michael Castillo drove down the field behind his blockers to set him up for a 3 yard rushing Touch Down. The Eagles defenses held the Lions on their next possession when Michael stripped the ball from their running back and ran 60 yards for an Eagles first down. The Lions would end up scoring later in the first half to tie the game 6-6 going into half time. The Lions received the ball first in the second half and came out with something to prove when they scored in 2 plays, but the Eagles would not go down without a fight when they stopped the Lions for the 2 point conversion making the score 6-12. The next play the Eagles wanted to prove that the game was not lost when Michael took back a 70 yard kickoff return for an Eagle touchdown, he also converted the 2 point conversion to make the score 14-12. The game would go like this for the next 2 quarters, the Lions would score making it 14-18 then the Eagles made a touchdown making it 20-18. In the last quarter the Eagles allowed one more touchdown making it 20-24 but with the game on the line the Eagles would drive the ball down the field and with the ball on the five yard line Diego Luna would throw it to Jayce Krauskopf for the Touchdown and Michael would add the 2 point conversion to put the Eagles up one last time 28-24. The Eagles would make a big stop on defense to end the game in their favor. Offensive stands out were Michael Castillo, Diego Luna, Layne Dowdy, and the whole offensive line. The defensive stand outs were Jayce Krauskopf, R.J. Marquez, Adrian Flores, and Michael Castillo. Great job Eagles on the victory.
