Game Recap

The 7th grade B-Team played an intersquad scrimmage Thursday night to show case the skills they have learned over these past few weeks. Although they did not have another school to face the scrimmage was a hard fought battle to the end with only one touchdown being made by Ecidro Hernandez of the White team. Next week the Eagles will be traveling to Beeville to put their skills to work. Great Job Eagles!!!!

The 7th grade A team game was good old fashioned Texas shoot out against San Antonio Christian Middle School. The Eagles received the ball first and set the tone for the rest of the game when Michael Castillo drove down the field behind his blockers to set him up for a 3 yard rushing Touch Down. The Eagles defenses held the Lions on their next possession when Michael stripped the ball from their running back and ran 60 yards for an Eagles first down. The Lions would end up scoring later in the first half to tie the game 6-6 going into half time. The Lions received the ball first in the second half and came out with something to prove when they scored in 2 plays, but the Eagles would not go down without a fight when they stopped the Lions for the 2 point conversion making the score 6-12. The next play the Eagles wanted to prove that the game was not lost when Michael took back a 70 yard kickoff return for an Eagle touchdown, he also converted the 2 point conversion to make the score 14-12. The game would go like this for the next 2 quarters, the Lions would score making it 14-18 then the Eagles made a touchdown making it 20-18. In the last quarter the Eagles allowed one more touchdown making it 20-24 but with the game on the line the Eagles would drive the ball down the field and with the ball on the five yard line Diego Luna would throw it to Jayce Krauskopf for the Touchdown and Michael would add the 2 point conversion to put the Eagles up one last time 28-24. The Eagles would make a big stop on defense to end the game in their favor. Offensive stands out were Michael Castillo, Diego Luna, Layne Dowdy, and the whole offensive line. The defensive stand outs were Jayce Krauskopf, R.J. Marquez, Adrian Flores, and Michael Castillo. Great job Eagles on the victory.

Game Recap

Last night, the 8th grade A-team took on the Charlotte Trojans in their final home game of the season and came out with a 41-0 victory. The Eagles came out clicking on all cylinders but stalled just short of the end zone on their opening drive. The following possession, the Eagles were given great field position due to an incredible interception by Reagan Moore off a pass deflection by Jathan Martinez. The Eagles would waste no time in capitalizing on the momentum shift when Joel Arevalo surged in for a 1 yard touchdown as he followed his blockers into the end zone. Joel Angel added on the PAT on the next play. The Eagles were only getting started as on the following drive, Juan Lopez hit the sideline on a great read and scampered in for a 20 yard touchdown run. Lopez wasn’t done utilizing his legs as he scrambled for an spectacular 45 yard touchdown run on the next offensive possession. Joel Arevalo pounded the ball into the end zone for the following 2 point conversion. Braxton Springer would help when on the ensuing kickoff, he recovered the pooched kick to give the Eagles offense another chance at padding their lead. The following drive was capped off by a 32 yard touchdown catch and run by Jathan Martinez from Lopez, with Jose Angel adding the PAT. The Eagles defense, which had held the Trojans in check all night, continued their dominance and again gave the Eagles offense another possession with great field position. The Eagles offense would continue their performance when Springer caught a 33 yard touchdown pass from Luke Raney and Jose Angel added the PAT. The Eagles capped off their night with a late 24 yard touchdown dash by Anthony Ottinger. The defense played lights out all night and the standouts were Reagan Moore, Jonathan Guzman, Cade Mitchell and Jason Krueger. The offensive standouts were the entire offensive line who were able to make adjustments and dominate the game. The Eagles finished the game with a score of 41-0. The Eagles are currently 8-0 and are looking to continue their winning streak next week against the Beeville Trojans in their final game of the season.

Game Recap

The A team showed up ready to fight hard for the home crowd too and proved to be too much for the Bears. The Eagles wasted no time and scored on the second play of offense when Joel Arevalo scored on a hard run from 38 yards out. With the Defense playing light out football the Offense quickly got the ball back and Rudy Franco Jr. scored on a 12 yard pass from Juan Lopez and the new offensive weapon at kicker, Jose Angel tacked on the P.A.T. In the second quarter an Anthony Ottinger run set up Juan Lopez, who made a good read and scampered in from one yard out for the TD making the score 20-0 at Half Time. After the Half Anthony Ottinger punched in a 4 yard TD and Peyton Eichman proved that lineman can catch too, on a trick play that added to more points to the Eagles score. With the Defense back on the field and the Bears driving down the field, the Eagles allowed a long 27 yard run for a TD and a 2 point conversion pass to take the score to 28-8. still in the 3rd quarter Luke Rainey proved to be too elusive for the Bears and scrambled out of the pocket after some great protection from his line and threw to a wide open Jathan Martinez for a 46 yard Touchdown and Jose Angel added the P.A.T. making it 35-8. Finishing the scoring was none other than Joel Arevalo who trotted in from 31 yards away and the P.A.T. was good from Jose Angel. The final score was 42-0 and the Eagles remain UNDEFEATED!! Offensive standouts were Peyton Eichman, Jonathon Guzman and Adrian Balderas along with the entire O-Line, the perfect kicking of Jose Angel, and Luke Rainey. Defensive standouts were Line backers Joel Arevalo, Marco Quinonez, Adriano Ayala, and Cornerback Oscar Leal. The Eagles will host the Charlotte Trojans next Thursday.
