Pleasanton Varsity Boys Track traveled to Cuero,TX last week to compete in the District Track Meet and competed extremely well. Pleasanton had 5 Eagles in the top 7 athletes at the meet. Este’van Jackson led the way for the Eagles with 26 points, followed by Jayden Palacios 25, Ashon Thompson 25, Juan Lopez 22, and Sean Ramos 22. The Eagles brought home individual District Champions in the 100m dash – Ashon Thompson, 200m dash – Ashon Thompson, 400m – Jayden Palacios, 800m – Jayden Palacios, and Pole Vault- Preston Pilgrim. We also took home district champions in the 4x200m Relay (Este’van Jackson, Sean Ramos, Juan Lopez, Ashon Thompson), and the 4x400m Relay (Sean Ramos, Juan Lopez, Este’van Jackson, Jayden Palacios). All of these young men advanced to the Area Meet in these events and will be joined by the following who will also compete there for finishing in the top 4 athletes in the district in their events: Reagan Moore, and Averee Cantu (800m run), Justin Veale (110m and 300m hurdles), Juan Lopez (Long and Triple Jump), Este’van Jackson (Long and Triple Jump), Sean Ramos (Long Jump), Adriano Ayala (Pole Vault). Pleasanton was well represented in Cuero and received a ton of compliments from coaches and spectators throughout the meet. The future of Pleasanton Track and Field looks bright and I look forward to the Area Meet in Wimberly, TX on Thursday April 15th.
