The Eagles had a good showing in the first meet of the year. It was a beautiful day to compete with cool temperatures in the morning and the sun shining down the entire day at the Navarro Panthers Leap Year Relays. Orlando Oltivero ran an impressive 2:04.89 in the 800M to take first place and another smooth first place of 4:47.44 in the 1600M to lead the team with 20 pts scored. Estevan Jackson also had a great showing with two second place finishes for 16 pts with jumps of 18’-1 1/2″ in the long jump and 40’-10 1/2″ in the triple jump. Jathan Martinez took third in the Disc with a throw of 113’-11″ to add 6 more points to the team total. Adriano Ayala took 1st in the pole vault with a vault of 10’-0″. Diogo Ravara took 6th in the triple jump with a jump of 37’-8″ and 5th in the high jump with a 5′-6″ jump. Ashon Thompson took 2nd in the 100 M with an impressive 10.30. He also anchored both the 4x100M Relay which took 2nd place that included Jessiejohn Guel, Alonzo Duran, and Christopher Zapata at a time of 45.00. The Eagles also took 5th in the 4x200M relay and 6th in the 4x400M relay. The had a good showing overall and will be competing in Jourdanton next Friday.
