The 8th Grade Lady Eagles competed in their 2nd track meet in Jourdanton’s Norman Borth Relay’s and did an excellent job. The Lady Eagles were able to come away with a plethora of awards, giving district opponents a sneak preview of what is to come at the district meet in Devine. Here are a few highlights of yesterday’s event:

100 M Dash: Kennedy Guajardo finished 3rd in her heat. Marissa Rothenbach and Brandi Barnett both finished 1st in their heat.
200 M Dash: Annalicia Bosquez finished first in her heat. Kenley Everette and Tess Underbrink both finished 2nd in their heat.
400 M Dash: Jasmine Watkins, Kennedy Guajardo, Kenley Everette all finished 1st in the heat.
800 M Dash: Kendall Espey finished 1st in her heat.
1600 M Run: Kendall Espey, Dahnna Garcia, and Natalie Muniz finished in that order giving the lady eagles 1st, 2nd, and 3rd
2400 M Run: Dahnna Garcia finished 1st, Jaiden Donato finished 2nd, and Natalie Muniz finished 4th.
100 M Hurdles: Skylar Mitchell and Jillian Barcomb both finished 2nd in their heat.
300 M Hurdles: Dylan Dusek finished 1st in her heat. Jillian Barcomb finished 2nd in her heat and Kenley Miller finished 4th in her heat.
4X100 M Relay: Kennedy Guajardo, Jaiden Donato, Itzel Perez, and Marissa Rothenbach finished 1st.
4X200 M Relay: Itzel Perez, Kenley Everette, Jasmine Watkins, and Kenley Miller finished 2nd.
4X400 M Relay: Jaiden Donato, Jasmine Watkins, Marissa Rothenbach and Kenley Miller finished 2nd.
Long Jump: Kennedy Guajardo finished 4th
Shot Put: Nika Garcia finished 1st, Madelyn Garza finished 2nd and Mackinzy Curbow finished 5th
Discus: Nika Garcia finished 2nd
Triple Jump: Marissa Rothenbach finished 1st and Dylan Dusek finished 3rd
High Jump: Tess Underbrink finished 2nd and was 1 of 2 girls who was able clear the opening height of 4’4
Pole Vault: Kenley Everette finished 1st and Lauren Trapp finished 3rd

All of our girls did an excellent job and we are extremely proud of their effort and hard work. We will only get better so please out to support us on Thursday, March 22nd in Devine at 4:15.
