Congratulations to all the JH runners for a strong performance at the Bandera Cross Country this past Saturday. Due to the weather the JH course was shorten to a 1 1/2 miles.
7th Lady Eagles
For the second week in a row the 7th girls missed the winning the championship plaque by 1 point. The Lady Eagles scored 32 points and came in second to Bandera who scored 31 points. All top 7 runners received a medal for their efforts.
Leading the way for the 7th grade team was Shaylin Gutierrez who placed 2nd with a time of 11:24. Neelah Martinez placed 4th with a time of 11:40. Evalynn Garza placed 7th with a time of 12:01, Shanna Hime was 9th in 12:39, Priscilla Ramirez placed 10th in 12:44, Siveah placed 16th in 14:54, and Olga Huizar placed 17th in 15:19. Also running very well for the Lady Eagles was Oxchitl Hernandez in 25th place in 18:11 and Leighlah Silva in 26th place with a time of 18:14.
7th Grade Boys
The 7th buys had only 2 runners this week at Bandera. Micah Klein won gold for the second week in a row with a time of 10:21 and a 1st place medal. Isaiah Cruz earned a medal with a 16th place finish and a time of 13:29
8th Grade Girls
The 8th Grade Lady Eagles scored 21 points and took home the 1st place plaque with a strong overall performance. Leading the girls was Sarah Scharmann who brought home a silver medal in a time of 11:15. Farah Standley was 3rd with a time of 12:04, Lillian Krause placed 4th in 12:10, Jauslyn Ramirez was 5th in 12:24, Vannessa Chapa place 7th in a time of 12:37, Chloe Nieschwitz placed 12th in 13:16, and Taliah Garcia placed 13th in 13:16. Also medaling for the Lady Eagles were Emery Yardley in 18th with a time of 13:59, Rebecca Martinez 19th place in 14:02, Katelyn Garza in 20th place in 14:03. We also had a strong showing from Xitlalli Hernandez 23rd place in 14:36 and Hailey Galloway in 34th in 23:03.
8th Grade Boys
The Eagles were short one runner this week and did not compete in the team standings. Top finisher for the boys team was Frank Douglas with a 4th place in a time of 10:46. Just behind Frank was Joseph Cuellar in 5th place with a time of 10:47. Zeke Garcia placed 8th with a time of 11:10, and Neal Ramos would be the final Eagle to cross the finish line in 17th place with a time of 23:35. All 4 runners medaled in the meet.
The JH Cross Country Teams will compete in the La Vernia JH Cross Country Meet this coming Wednesday.
